If you wish to be placed on the waiting list, you may still complete the request form.
Artist Alley is a great place for both amateur and professional artists to showcase their work and original merchandise. Artist Alley merchandise traditionally includes fanart prints, manga, models, paintings, and novelty crafts, but is limited only by your imagination. Many artists take custom commissions during the convention.
General Information and Costs
Location
Zenkaikon is offering artist tables in two different locations for 2011:
Artist Alley A (36 tables total) will be downstairs in the Exhibit Hall (Pennsylvania Room) in the Valley Forge Convention Center. Artists who choose tables in this area will be subject to Exhibit Hall hours but have the advantage of having security to monitor the hall overnight once closed and secured, and they do not have to pack up and set up their tables each day.
Artist Alley B (10 tables total) will be upstairs in the hallway of the Scanticon Conference Center between rooms GS2 and GS 3 (see diagram here). Artists choosing tables in this alley may setup at the same time as those in the Pennsylvania room, but are free to come and go as they please and choose their own hours of operation (within the posted overall convention hours). This hallway will be monitored by security, but it cannot be secured overnight. Artists are responsible for packing up and securing their merchandise.
Hours
Artist Alley A will be open on the following schedule:
- Friday, March 18, 2011 1pm – 8pm (1 – 1:30 will be for VIP access only)
- Saturday, March 17, 2011 10am – 6pm
- Sunday, March 18, 2011 10am – 4pm
Artists in Artist Alley A may setup their tables from 6pm-Midnight on Thursday, March 17, 2011 and again from 7am-1pm on Friday, March 18, 2011. Artists in Artist Alley B may set up their tables from 7am-1pm on Friday, March 18, 2011.
Table Number and Size
For 2011, Zenkaikon is selling only whole tables (6 foot by 2 foot). An artist or group may purchase up to 2 tables.
Table Cost and Payments
Table cost is the combination of one table ($42) plus one three-day convention membership. There is no difference in cost between a table in Artist Alley A or B. Artists may purchase up to two additional memberships per table to be designated as Artist Helper badges. All participants at the table must be registered for the convention. Please see the summary of combined costs in the table below.
You must include your registration fee with your table payment if you are not already registered for Zenkaikon V. Reservations, once confirmed, will be held for 15 days. If full payment is not received within 15 days, you will lose your reservation.
Artists may pay using a mail in form and check, or using Paypal.
