REGULATIONS: Gofer Do's and Don’ts

-DO show up on time! If you are Afternoon, Day, or Full shift, please be available before the Con is open to help with setup. If you are Night shift, please be available by midday and stay till closing to help with tear down (Full shift will be there too).

-DO always be courteous no matter what the situation to our Con goers, Guests, Staff, and fellow Gofers.

-DO remember to bring food or money for snacks if you are Afternoon, Day, Night shift, as only Full shift is provided lunch/dinner. You may keep anything you bring in the secure Staff room.

-DO let the Con goers have a turn on any interactive setup (i.e. video games) that you may be using. You will have time for fun, but you are at the Con first to do Gofering. There will be no flaunting of your Gofer status to turn away others from using equipment!

-DON'T get into arguments or physical confrontations with Con goers or other Staff. If you have a problem, please either find a Security person or someone in charge (anyone with a walkie-talkie). This is for your own safety.

-DON’T try to hide from people you do not want to be around or work with. If your placement is making you uncomfortable, let the people in charge of Gofers know. They can help put you in a spot more suited for you.

-DON'T make yourself scarce when there is work to be done. If you see someone needing help or looking lost, help them. Also do not leave your post if you are watching a door. There will be people coming around to relieve you for breaks and such.

-DO be sure to CHECK IN as soon as you arrive!

-DO be sure to contact the staffer who is in charge of gofers after your shift is done to SIGN OUT and receive your refund.

--Not following these basic guidelines can result in a warning, or dismissal from the Gofer program. Should you be dismissed, you may remain at the convention as a Con goer as long as you conduct yourself appropriately.

Note: Must pay fee in full at beginning of shift, to get refund at end of shift.
You will be allowed to leave early IN EXTENUATING/EMERGENCY CIRCUMSTANCES, but must work at least half of your shift to receive a refund for Day or Night, or 3/4 your shift to receive refund for Full. We do not provide lodging or transportation for Gofers, so please keep this in mind.
