I love Captain Harlock . . . I really want to cosplay as Queen Emeraldas but I don't have the money or sewing skills to do that . . .@.@

How can one not love Harlock? I don't think it's possible. He's the original brooding hero. lol

Just got the first two volumes and am loving every second of it. (I'm trying to get screening permission for Beast King Go Lion for Zkon 2008. Keep your fingers crossed.)

Space Adventure Cobra or Legend of the Galactic Heroes anyone? :P Haha, the new Cobra series has started being released. Can't wait to see what they've done with it.

I remember Space Adventure Cobra. I cut my anime teeth on Star Blazers and then watching raw anime at the old C.F.O. meetings down in Philly. I still remember having a VHS tape of Megazone 23 Part 2 that had an english dub with Japanese subtitles.

Those were the days...

I never got to see the original Cobra but read alot of the re-released mangas.
I'm with you on Star Blazers. I think that's the moment I realized that these cartoons were from Japan and suddenly speed racer, astro boy and battle of the planets had more of a signifigance to me. I had the opportunity to attend a C.F.O. meeting once but only once and I can't even remember what we watched that night. I think it might have been Harlock or Galaxy Express or something on those lines.

I remember sitting down everyday and watching Star Blazers and G-Force (aka Gatchaman) before I could even understand what the storylines even were (back when there were only like 10 channels on the tv and you had to get up to the tv to change channels XD). Those were usually followed by watching Gilligan's Island and I love Lucy, lol.

Star Blazers is IT as far as I'm concerned. I just remember thinking how cool the Comet Empire episodes were. Remeber how awesome the Andromada was? TWO wave motion canons!!! They just don't make anime like that anymore.

At the C.F.O. meeting I went to, it seemed like more social gathering. But the anime was still cool. I remember watching Bubblegum Crisis at one meeting.

Oh totally and I loved the updated cosmofighters and the Space Marines Sgt. Knox! "Space Cruiser Yamato" will always be my all time favorite anime. I love alot of what I'm seeing these days too but that will always hold a special place in my geek heart. :D (Nice Art Gallery BTW!)

Wow! Cool pic! The cosmofighters were pretty awesome also. I remember I bought a VHS copy of Arrivederci Yamato at a con one time. All Japanese, no subtitles. That, my friend, is hardcore.

Thanks for the compliment about my art. I might have to do a Star Blazers piece now for old times sake.

I knew what was going on but just the strangeness of watching a WWII era battleship fly blew my little 8 year old mind. lol And yes, Gilligan's Island and I Love Lucy were also a staple viewing subject. lol
