I'd love to meet Sarah Natochenny, who does Ash or Michelle Knotz, who does Jessie on Pokemon.
Whatever...

I am looking into these groups as musical guests:

http://www.myspace.com/unclemonsterface

http://www.myspace.com/geistband

http://www.theslants.com

http://www.myspace.com/superfortress

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=11176919

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... d=11721898

AND we'd like to have HSU-NAMI for an encore performance if they are available.

Feel free to give feedback on these bands. We haven't contacted them yet, but we will be initiating that type of contact within the next few weeks, and would love to know what y'all think of the possible selections.

Those bands are all amazing!! I've already discussed my ideas with you guys though and in case one of them is a "top secret" as Mattie put it, I'll just leave it at that!!

Svetlana Chmakova. FTW. Kidding.

I'd suggest Lisa Furukawa. She's good with really... young cons. :3

Oh and mabey even a Jpop band. But that would be hard sense the con is so small. Like I would spend 50 bucks for the con ticket if Asian Kung Fu Generation was gona be there.

Unfortunately Asian Kung Fu Generation is almost impossible to get at any con, they don't come stateside often.

Asian bands are a tricky thing to book since they usually only book with conventions to promote album releases in the US or to coincide with their stateside tours.

Plus, the more famous they are, they tend to have pretty high demands for performing. For one event (not convention related), I had a band that requested, 5 pairs of underwear for each of the band members, caviar and fruit, bottled water we had never heard of, really expensive wine, a jutebox in their backstage room, etc. And that was only a few of the hundreds of things required for them. And that's besides their performance fee and travel costs.

Yes the con is small, but if you look at our guest page we have 3 bands, two Asian bands and a parody band. The Slants are electronic Chinatown dance rock, Leakt Izora are an Asian metal/jrock visual kei and Ultraball are a pokemon parody group..so thats about the best we can do at the moment.

Oh, I'm not complaining. I think that's awsome none the less. Some of the bigger cons don't even have bands. So this will be fun :3
