Zenkaikon 2012 Feedback

Pretty much all of my complaints were addressed here already, such as the sound problems with Panels 1 and 2, and the game room. But something else I'd like to address is can we have more of a selection of anime to view? I love Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) and all, but seeing the same episodes for the second time was kind of annoying. If I manage to come next year, I'd be glad to allow you guys to borrow some of my anime dvds. I have things like Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, which are popular and I'm sure people would come to watch.

Also, for next year PLEASE bring back that asian food table. I've never had melon bread before, and it was quite tasty!

Thank you for your suggestions. However we can only play anime and videos that we are given permission to by the companies themselves. I will have a suggestion post going up soon, and will take any and all suggestions, but know that we do give priority to anime that the companies themselves wish us to play, and also to those anime that our voice acting guests are part of. We also can only play shows that we've asked and gotten permission to play. As I've said in previous posts, we did have more anime that we were given permission to show, including Hetalia, Panty & Stocking, and even Tenchi Muyo, but due to the time constraints, and the ratings, we could not show everything and felt that shows viewable and shown to be more popular by a wider audience should be what was played.
Look for our suggestion post coming soon though. We will be going back to a full 3 days viewing panel in at least two rooms, so will have plenty of time to get a nicer variety of anime and other goodies in.

Zenkaikon was my very first con, and I thought it was great! There were a few improvements I wanted to mention, but they have all been mentioned or fixed for next year. So maybe just some suggestions and pros:

1. Please bring back the Asian Snacktime table/booth next year. The grab bag and melon bread I bought did not disappoint me or my friends back home.

2. I saw how big the new Dealer's room is, and I'm glad there will be more dealers next year.

3. Glad to see the main stage has its own room next year, no more dark convention center.

4. Everyone (both con goers and staff) were really friendly, which I was worried about since it was a "big city" con.

5. Staff was stern, but fair and very helpful. Perfect for any newbie con goer (like me).

Really excited for next year! I hope a lot of the same dealers will be there next year, too.

I want Charles Dunbar to come back again. I got to go to his Sprites, Wheels,and Borrowed Gods panel and I love it. I was so sad that I missed his Dead Like Us: Shinigami and the Japanese Idea of Death panel. Please bring him back.
I don't think I need to say it, but I will anyway, bring back Uncle Yo and let him do more panels.
Bring back Guest Uncensored, just make sure the mics work. Back in 2011 the mics didn't really work and it ruined it for me not being able to hear everyone.
Bring back Onezumi Hartstein. I love her as a guest and it's a joy to see her at cons.
Bring back the Friday Knights people. I loved the panels of theirs that I was able to go to this year and I loved the ones they did the year before.
Also I request that you bring back the people who ran the Boku No Pornorama and Revenge of the Hentia Co-Panelist panels. They were great panelists and they managed to keep me an my friends up and entertained that late at night.
I had a lot of fun this year. The only down side was how far the hotels were from the convention center, but it seems this has been fixed for next year. I'm just the type that likes being able to walk to her hotel room whenever she wants without needing a ride.

One of my concerns was the quality of the speakers. When the guests were talking, I could barely hear a word of what they were saying, and I was fairly close to the stage for each panel I went to. Next year, i'm hoping for a better sound system. The next concern isn't really a concern. Most people, such as myself, are unable to register for the karaoke contest online. I would enjoy it if there was an open karaoke panel that anyone could join in, and i'm pretty sure many people agree. This would be just for fun though. My idea is to have the karaoke contest be for the people that pre-registered for the contest, and the open one would be for people that want to do it for fun.
