Much of the same activities and panels, though AnimeNEXT has a larger attendance since it's been around longer. As for this year, they are in a brand new location so can't really say what it will be like this year.

AnimeNEXT is much bigger than Zenkaikon ~ There are a lot more people and a wider range of dealers, artists and fans.
So if you like a lot of people and a bigger con [ especially for those people who like really WEIRD fandoms ] AnimeNEXT is probably better for you.

Though I actually like smaller cons better than larger ones. They're more personal and not as overwhelming in my opinion. (:

But don't get me wrong, I went to AnimeNEXT this past year.... and it was awesome ; A ; <3

Well, we're running 1300+, Anext runs about 5-6k now. So not that much bigger, we're all about mid-size cons now. I consider bigger like Otakon, Anime Expo and Dragon*con which number over 30k.

I suppose so~
Otakon was REALLY big... ;A ; IDK.
I met a lot of people, but it just wasn't the same :T

Is it really classified in the same range as AnimeNEXT.
That's actually really cool :'D
I always thought it to be much smaller, but that must have been just me... I don't really take into account the numbers, considering there's always so many people in one place ~

Just from talking with other con staff, people consider small cons < 1000 attendees, mid size like 1k - 10k, and big cons like > 10k. But it's not set in stone.

AN is generally considered a big con, but with those attendance guidlines they are right on the border, last couple years they where in the 9K (10th on the list of biggest cons in north america)
