For now, please read the general description of the dances available:

1. Zenkaikon 2008 Rave (Informal Dance)

We're pleased to announce we will be having at least one rave (informal dance) in our main events room this year on Friday, October 17. The Friday Rave/dance will be held after the Cosplay Ball. What kind of music will be featured, you ask? In general, the best Jpop and Anime trance/remix tracks, House, Trance, Soundtracks, Techno, you name it!

We have confirmed our first DJ! Gaijin, the keyboard player from The Slants will be spinning a"live dj set of dance songs, para para remixes of popular anime themes, and other tunes to get cosplayers dancing"!!

Specific details on when the dances will be held is not yet available, but if you'd like to help out in the capacity of being a DJ (and you are in the PA, MD, VA, NJ or NY area), please email us at zenkaikon at gmail dot com.
When more information is available, we will post a DJ list, some info about them, and a schedule, so please check back!!



2. Zenkaikon 2008 Cosplay Ball (Formal Dance)


We are very excited to be offering this for 2008! The ball will be held on Friday, October 17 in the evening (possibly in a time slot from 8-10 PM).It will be a formal/costume event in which attendees must be either in a dance worthy costume or formalwear (more dress code information and other information forthcoming)!. We will be providing dancing lessons for the majority of the event. The style of dance will be mostly traditional Scottish or English country dancing, and possibly with ballroom and Japanese style dancing added in. The preliminary time slot will be on Friday evening near the end of the scheduled activities.
