Cosplay: Dating Game

Come join us for a hilarious good time as the classic 'Dating Game' takes on a whole new meaning with cosplaying bachelors and bachelorettes! Are you a good cosplayer? Do you really know your character? Would you like to compete for the right to take a lovely bachelorette or handsome bachelor on a "date?" Then consider auditioning for our dating game this year.

Event Description

The Cosplay Dating Game is similar to the traditional 'Dating Game' of yesteryear TV. Three bachelors or bachelorettes sit on one side of a curtain. On the other side is the 'prize,' an elusive bachelor or bachelorette for one of the 3 contestants to 'win.' The twist is that you are in costume and you are your character. The prize will ask several questions, which you must answer in character, and then will choose which one they want. There will be several rounds of the dating game. The first round will be rated PG-13, and take place during the day. The second round game will be rated 18+, and take place in the evening. Unlike the real 'Dating Game,' this event is purely for the amusement and entertainment of the contestants and audience. No real dating is involved.

Zenkaikon reserves the right to hold both or either round depending on the number of contestants eligible to participate.

Dating Game Signups and Check-In

In order to compete in the Cosplay Dating Game, you must be registered to attend Zenkaikon 2009, and submit an application before the application deadline. Contestants will not be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, but instead on the quality of the application, and the popularity of the character.

Rules and Requirements

To participate in the Cosplay Dating Game:

Contestants in the PG-13 round must be between the ages of 15 and 17, and have their parent or guardian complete a waiver.
Contests in the 18+ round must be at least 18 years of age. You will be required to present proof of your age at the convention.
During the PG-13 round of the game, content must be kept at a PG-13 level.
You must have a good bought or handmade costume that is legal to wear in public.
You must know the character you are cosplaying well, and be able to act like him or her.
You need to have a good sense of humor.
If selected, you will be required to sign a release form for photos and videos taken during the event.
