Artist Alley Residents Pull Together to Support Japan

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

A few days ago, we posted about Zenkaikon’s efforts to support the Japan Relief Effort through collecting donations at our Merchandise table and at many of the con’s major events. Since that time, we’ve not only received great support from our attendees, but also heard from many of our Artist Alley residents who want to help as well. Below is a list of artists who have committed to donating proceeds from their sales of all or specific items to the relief effort. This list may or may not be complete.

  • Cernak Arts – Donating all sales of 4×6 print photos of Japan to the Relief Efforts.
  • Clockwerk Fascinations – Donating 10% of all sales to the Relief Efforts.
  • Fluffy Laser Balls – Selling products with Shiba Inus on them, with all money made from the sales of these items donated to the Japanese Relief Fund.
  • Friday Knights – Donating $1 from every sale to Zenkaikon’s collection for the Relief Fund. They will also be offering “heart assessments” (find out if you are a Time Lord!) for any amount donated to the fund at theirĀ  table.
  • Geeks Next Door – Bishounen Benefit – $.75 out of every dollar spent on pretty boy prints and related merchandise will be going to the Red Cross Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
  • Geek Mythology Crafts – Selling heart-shaped bead magnets for $1 each. Proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
  • Juri-H Illustration – All proceeds from sales of a particular print will be donated.
  • Manifested Dreams – Half of the proceeds from origami crane earrings ($10/pair), crane cell phone straps ($6/each), and starwish bottles ($6/each) will go to the Brother’s Brother Foundation in Pittsburg, which is working with the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania
  • OneWingedEagle – Making special buttons, sales of which ($1 each) will go to the Relief Efforts.
  • RisingPheonix – Accepting donations for Global Giving – Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund. Each day of the convention they will randomly select 2 donors to receive one 8×10 print or two 4×6 prints from the artist.
  • Something for Everyone Jewelry – $1 from every sale will go to the Relief Efforts.
  • Stuffed Sushi – $5 from every sale of Stuffed Sushi T-shirts will be donated to the Red Cross.
  • “That’s So Cute” Buttons – Making special buttons, sales of which ($1 each) will go to the Relief Efforts.

All we can say is, the anime community is awesome! :)

Friday Knights will donate $1 from every sale Zenkaikon

for their relief fund for Japan. They will also be offering heart assessments (Find out if you are a Time Lord!) for any amount donated to the fund at our table in AA. All money will be turned over to Zkon to donate.
