Are you deciding which days you want to attend Zenkaikon? Why not get the full experience, and register for all three! Not only does pre-registering for three days get you best the deal (it’s cheaper than registering for two days individually), but it also allows you to participate in all the awesome events Zenkaikon has to offer. Here’s a preview of some of the fun that will be taking place each day!
Come see the top-rated Anime Music Videos (AMVs) submitted to our judges this year! An Anime Music Video is a fan created music video, by persons like you, using anime or Japanese video game footage, set to music. Genres include Action, Drama, Sentimental, Upbeat, and Comedy/Parody. Audience members decide the winners of the AMV Contest by voting for their favorite video in each genre.
Based on the popular dice game you can find on various online social networking sites, Anime Farkle pits two contestants against each other in a race to answer trivia questions to take control of our six giant dice screens. Once you’re in control, roll the dice and hope you score prizes and cash to spend in our Prize Suitcase, but be careful…if you can’t score, you FARKLE and your opponent is one step closer to winning the game and playing on for a chance to clean us out of bonus prizes!
Uncle Yo –Standup for Geeks
Uncle Yo has packed the house every year he’s been at Zenkaikon, and we expect this year to be no different. Come see him talk about about “anime, video games, Japanese culture, and all those things you talk about that makes your mother think she dropped you on your head.” This is THE Uncle Yo performance at Zenkaikon, and one you don’t want to miss!
Gelatine is one of the most consistently entertaining bands in New York. They’re a rock band who seem to mix influences of classical, Japanese traditional, metal, and cartoons, into a rowdy and enjoyable listening experience. Don’t miss Gelatine’s performance at Zenkaikon V!
Prepare for a decadent evening of cosplay, music, and dance. The Sakura Cosplay Ball is Zenkaikon’s formal dance event taking place on Friday evening. Set Dancing, a traditional form of folk group dancing, will be taught in the first hour of the ball and will be the main style of dance for the evening.

Let your fellow cosplaying attendees entertain you with their talents, humor, and endless creativity, while showing off their extraordinary cosplays. Entries take the form of skits which may include, but are not limited to: musical numbers, choreographed dances, comedy sketches, acting, instrumental acts, and parodies. The skits will be followed by the Fashion Show where our Hall Cosplay Contest participants will wow the audience with their incredible costumes.

Anime Press Your Luck
Get ready, Zenkaikon! It’s time to PRESS YOUR LUCK! The game with big bucks and Whammies is back! Answer some fairly easy trivia questions to rack up spins for use on our big board where you can turn your spins into lots and lots of cash and prizes! But watch out for the Whammy! If he shows up he’ll steal all your goodies and humiliate you in front of a live studio audience!
Of course, this is only a sampling of the many activities taking place over the three days of Zenkaikon. Attending for all three days also means more panels, screenings, and autograph sessions. It means more time to beat your best score in the video game room, play your favorite character in the LARP, or find that thing you’ve always been looking for in the Dealer’s Room or Artist Alley.
We hope you’ll decide to join us for all the fun that is Zenkaikon, all weekend long!
